Every year, HSLNKC recognizes member libraries with its annual awards, and presents HSLNKC Service Certificates to members who have worked to help our organization fulfill its mission. Other awards recognize HSLNKC members for their accomplishments at the regional and national level. This page recognizes the libraries who have won HSLNKC awards, and HSLNKC members who have received MCMLA and MLA awards. Excellent Return on Investment - Excellent Return on Investment Award is to honor a library that has made an outstanding return on the budgetary investment made in its operation. MCMLA Awards Barbara McDowell Award - The Barbara McDowell Award was established in her memory in 1984. Barbara was Chief of Library Services at the Sioux Falls, South Dakota Veterans Administration. Bernice M. Hetzner Award - This award was established in 1991 in honor of Bernice M. Hetnzer, Library Director and Professor Emeritus at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
